Having full time technical experts on staff helping pair phones and giving basic Ford SYNC tutorials to every SYNC customer is just the tip of the iceburg. We want to insure there is nothing standing in the way of you getting the full experience from this great technology.

Maybe you have upgraded, lost, or broken your phone, which would leave you without a connection to SYNC. Today I am going to walk you through the process of pairing a new phone to your vehicle, just in case you ever find yourself in this situation.

Don’t worry, it’s much easier than it seems..... Ready?!?

Step #1:  Turn your phones Bluetooth to “ON” in your phones settings. Find this by clicking your menu button then click settings. Once you are in your settings you will see Bluetooth, click that and switch it to on (stay in this screen on your Phone).

Step #2: Now in your vehicle, tap the phone button, this will bring you to the phone menu. If you had a phone connected in the past it may try to connect to it, don’t worry just scroll past it and select “Add Bluetooth Device.” Once you select “Add Bluetooth Device” hit “OK” to begin the pairing process.

Step #3: The vehicle is now ready for your phone to connect to it. On your phone, in the Bluetooth menu from step #1, you will see an option that says scan for device, select that option and your phone will begin to look for SYNC. Select SYNC from the list of available devices and your phone will connect to it and ask you to enter the password. The password can be found on your vehicles display screen.

Step #4: Now that the phone and vehicle are connected, the vehicle will ask you two questions on the screen.
1. Set as the primary device? Press OK and select Yes
2. Download Phonebook? Press OK and select Yes

Vuala!! Your new phone is now connected to Ford SYNC and ready to use! See, not so bad right? Keep in mind you can also add a second phone using these same steps. Hopefully this can help you pair your new phone in the future, and remember if you have any questions we are always here to help!
