Ford Driving Skills for Life Updates Content and Technology

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Ford Driving Skills for Life follows their original motto of “hands on the wheel, eyes on the road” while addressing the dangerous trends teens face when driving. As the program prepares to launch the second decade of success, Ford Driving Skills for Life Updates Content and Technology in the program to engage a new generation of teens and new drivers. The program prides itself on its ability to teach skills that are not typically learned in the average driver's education class.

The curriculum is constantly adjusting in order to keep up with the ever-changing world. One of the latest driving trends? Driving selfies. What are driving selfies, you ask? They are mobile self-portraits that are taken while behind the wheel. This popular yet dangerous trend is growing and Ford Driving Skills for Life will demonstrate the distraction created by taking selfies while behind the wheel on a closed course. New drivers will also be able learn about the risks associated with the dangerous trend through online site.

Another issue that calls for attention is impaired driving, which Ford Driving Skills for Life will now demonstrate with new technology. Currently, goggles are used to simulate the effects of impaired driving, soon to be joined by a drunk driving suit that will replicate the challenges experienced by a person under the influence. The suit will add weight to the arms and legs, causing the participant to experience slow reaction time and improper balance.

Ever since its establishment in 2003, Ford Driving Skills for Life Updates Content and Technology continuously to address the challenges teens and other new drivers may face. The advanced driving skills program is now operating in more than 15 countries and looking for even more growth. The redesigned Ford Driving Skills for Life Academy will give teens and their parents the information they need to ditch their bad driving habits and make safer decisions out on the road. Ford Increases Investment in Virtual Crash Computing

Ford Increases Investment in Virtual Crash Computing

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Ford Increases their Investment in Virtual Crash Computing by 50 percent to better the safety of their customers. The technology investment increases the number and speed of virtual crash tests performed each day and allows Ford safety teams to gather data more quickly and efficiently.

Utilizing both physical and virtual crash tests allows Ford to gather safety data at maximum rates and to ensure each Ford vehicle meets or exceeds industry safety standards. Many countries have increased regulations as today's vehicles become more advanced in technology, features, and body styles. However, this workload does not pose as an issue for Ford thanks to their investment in technology and their hardworking team.

Well over 500 engineers around the globe are dedicated to Ford safety, and the automotive brand designs vehicles that are nothing less than top-notch. During the vehicle design process, computer simulations are used in the early stages while crash test verification is used later to make sure each vehicle performs exceptionally. Technology has advanced since Ford's first crash test in 1954; Ford's versatile crash barrier facility can adapt to perform various crash tests, including frontal, side, and rear impact tests to assess restraints and airbag systems. Even though it may take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to prepare vehicles for these physical tests, Ford can retrieve the crash data within 30 minutes!

All-New F-650/F-750 Join America's Best-Selling Commercial Trucks Lineup

All-New F-650/F-750 Join America's Best-Selling Commercial Trucks Lineup

ST CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Ford is setting a new standard for medium-duty trucks with the All-New F-650/F-750 Joining America's Best-Selling Commercial Trucks Lineup that will be available in spring 2015. The engineers at Ford were hard at work to deliver a medium-duty lineup to satisfy even the toughest of customer work conditions with trucks that are work-ready, cost-effective, and proven to be Built Ford Tough.

The all-new F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will be available in three cab styles—Regular Cab, SuperCab, and CrewCab—and three models—straight frame, dock height, and an all-new dedicated tractor model for heavy towing. Ford is providing customers with capability and convenience at its finest by equipping both of these trucks with powerful and efficient second generation 6.7-liter Power Stroke® V8 diesel engines. Not only do they contain a host of unique features, these trucks are made to impress and now include segment-exclusive Ford gasoline and diesel engines. This is a BIG advantage for Ford because they are the only medium-duty truck manufacturer that builds its own diesel engine and transmission combination. With this approach, Ford engineers can perfect the vehicle's performance across the entire lineup.

As the All-New F-650/F-750 Join America's Best-Selling Commercial Trucks Lineup, the new features in the medium-duty trucks allow drivers to ride safely, conveniently, and comfortably. These trucks feature SYNC® and Crew Chief factory-installed fleet management telematics, a 110-volt power outlet, available rapid-heat that warms the cab in cold climates, and remote start. Additionally, the steering wheel features new advanced controls to keep drivers focused on the road and a convenient turn lever that features automatic five-blink turn signals at a click! The improvements keep on getting better and become more driver-focused with every generation. The new medium-duty trucks are designed with an all-new Ford engineered frame and suspension including a newly available anti-roll bar for smooth and improved riding.

Ford Motor Company's February Sales Overview

Ford Motor Company's February Sales Overview
ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Ford Motor Company's February Sales Overview shows that the month of February ended with some positive news! It was Ford's best February for F-Series in eight years, selling a total of 55,882 vehicles throughout the month. Although Ford's U.S. total sales are down 6 percent compared to last year and retail sales are down 4 percent, the F-Series and Lincoln brand vehicles managed to pull through and posted strong gains for the month of February.

According to John Felice, Ford Vice President, U.S. marketing, sales and service, sales increased rapidly after a slow start to the month. In addition to the terrific sales performance from the F-Series and Lincoln, the Ford Fusion also continued its strong retail sales performance out West. Fleet sales were off 10 percent in February due to the delayed portion of fleet orders from the winter weather. With the start of March, the volumes are anticipated to be made up. Ford Motor Company's February Sales Overview just goes to show that aside from the small obstacles provided by Mother Nature, Ford can still come out on top with some very positive gains.
