ST. CLAIRE SHORES, Mich. — Mustang Enthusiasts Gather to Participate in the Anniversary Celebration of the Ford Mustang on April 16th through the 20th. Fans representing 16 countries from around the world will come together in the United States to celebrate 50 years of the Ford Mustang with ride-and-drives, exhibits, live bands and more!

Ford Mustang's 50th Anniversary celebration will be so large that Ford Motor Company and Mustang Club of America needed two locations to hold the event! This massive celebration will be hosted at Charlotte Motor Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway simultaneously. It is encouraged that the more the merrier, no need to be a Mustang owner or MCA member to attend the event! The MCA has arranged “Pony Drives” so Mustang drivers can venture to either of the two events together in organized groups. Some international participants are even shipping their pony cars to the United States so that they are able to join in the drive to the Mustang festivities. 

The milestone celebration will be an experience participants will remember forever, and Ford Motor Company decided to make it extra special by announcing that they will be offering the 2015 Mustang globally for the very first time! The technology investment increases the number and speed of virtual crash tests performed each day and allows Ford safety teams to gather data more quickly and efficiently.

Utilizing both physical and virtual crash tests allows Ford to gather safety data at maximum rates and to ensure each Ford vehicle meets or exceeds industry safety standards. Many countries have increased regulations as today's vehicles become more advanced in technology, features, and body styles. However, this workload does not pose as an issue for Ford thanks to their investment in technology and their hardworking team.

Ford Fund Awards $1M Automotive Design Scholarships

CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Ford Motor Company Fund will honor the late William Clay Ford, former chairman of Ford's design committee, by awarding $1 million in automotive design scholarships to students. Ford Fund will distribute $50,000 per year over the next 20 years, giving five deserving automotive design college students $10,000 in scholarship money each year.

Mr. Ford served 57 successful years as an employee and board member at Ford Motor Company, transforming vehicle design with his creative vision and setting the direction of Ford's design process with his passionate soul. Ford Shifts 2016 F-650/F-750 Production From Mexico to Ohio

ST CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — On Friday, March 7th, Ford announced their decision to Shift 2016 F-650/F-750 Production From Mexico to Ohio. The all-new medium-duty trucks will be produced at the Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, Ohio starting early next year. Ford is investing $168 million to equip the Cleveland-area plant with necessary tools for production.

Ford E-Series cutaway vans and stripped chassis will continue to be built at the Ohio Assembly Plant, although cargo and passenger van production will cease later this year. The addition of the 2016 F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will benefit the futures of the devoted workers at the Ohio facility and allow Ford to utilize their in-house expertise to offer customers a better product at a competitive price.

Ford Motor Company's February Sales Overview

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Ford Motor Company's February Sales Overview shows that the month of February ended with some positive news! It was Ford's best February for F-Series in eight years, selling a total of 55,882 vehicles throughout the month. Although Ford's U.S. total sales are down 6 percent compared to last year and retail sales are down 4 percent, the F-Series and Lincoln brand vehicles managed to pull through and posted strong gains for the month of February.

According to John Felice, Ford Vice President, U.S. marketing, sales and service, sales increased rapidly after a slow start to the month. In addition to the terrific sales performance from the F-Series and Lincoln, the Ford Fusion also continued its strong retail sales performance out West. Fleet sales were off 10 percent in February due to the delayed portion of fleet orders from the winter weather. With the start of March, the volumes are anticipated to be made up. Ford Motor Company's February Sales Overview just goes to show that aside from the small obstacles provided by Mother Nature, Ford can still come out on top with some very positive gains.

Ford Celebrates Aussie Ute's 80th Anniversary

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.— Ford celebrates the Aussie Ute's 80th Anniversary; the inspiration that led to the development of the beloved F-Series and Ranger vehicles. The first Ford ute is an important piece of Ford's history which lead the company to years of truck leadership across the globe. Now, let us explain just how the iconic ute was born...

It all started back in 1933 with a letter. Hubert French, the managing director of Ford Motor Company of Australia, received this letter from a farmer's wife asking for help. She explained her and her husband needed a car they could drive to church but also needed a truck that would be able to take their pigs to the market. It was not possible for them to afford both. The couple needed a vehicle that could provide comfort and space for their everyday activities. French took this letter as an opportunity and showed it to a young design engineer, Lewis Bandt. Bandt sketched out a vehicle with a coupe body and 'pickup' sides, later adding a wooden-framed utility section with steel outer panels in place of the rear luggage compartment. The result was a clean, spacious, and smooth looking automobile which quickly developed into the 'must have' vehicle for rural areas!

Between 1940 and 1954, 22,000 were sold! Bandt's coupe utility was a first for Ford Australia and left its mark in the development of the Australia auto industry. The original Ford Ute paved the way for some of the world's greatest vehicles—the Pickup or utility. From the original Ute also came the Falcon ute; an Australian favorite with more than 455,000! 

Ford celebrates the Aussie Ute's 80th Anniversary, the iconic vehicle that deserves a great round of applause for inspiring the creation of the F-Series - the world's best-selling vehicle in the country for 32 consecutive years. Who would have thought so many years of successful trucks would have been driven from a single letter? It goes to show that from the very start, Ford produced vehicles with their customers in mind!

The new 2015 F-150 is up to 700 pounds lighter, providing better handling and increased capabilities. The maximum light-duty plow weight will be over 450 pounds, still making the new F-150 lighter than ever. This year alone, Ford has created more than 5,000 new jobs; 3,300 of which are salaried positions. Ford hasn't had this large of a hiring initiative since 2000. The company was able to build more than 14,000 Ford jobs in North America over the past two years.

The Transit, which eventually will replace the Ford E-Series, has been the leading choice for decades among many business owners. The Transit is a tough, durable cargo vehicle that brings drivers much flexibility and capability.

The Ford Transit is also expected to average 25 percent better fuel efficiency and haul at least 300 more pounds than the E-Series we have today.

The 1,000 New Employees Start Work in Kansas City on the 2015 Transit and an additional 175 will join them come March. Ford is ready to knock out one of the 16 vehicles in the US -23 globally- that will debut this year!

2014 NAIAS Display Shows How "Ford Goes Further"

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich - A 66,167 square foot display complete with 82 vehicles, new technology, and customer interactive exhibits at the 2014 NAIAS, Shows How "Ford Goes Further" according to Dan Tillapaugh, Global Auto Show Operations Manager for Ford.

Ford's display at the 2014 North American International Auto Show is complete with a 37.5-ton piece F-150 assembly line and a new upper-level exhibit to recognize 50 years of Mustang success. This year, more than ever before, consumers are able to interact with the Ford Motor Company display. Each exhibit broadcasts the strength and quality of the new products.

"The Future of Tough" presentation features a assembly line, taking visitors through each stage of production of the F-150. Ford is looking to show customers the lengths that Ford engineers had to go to in order to create such a smart, tough, and capable truck.

"50 Years of Mustang"is in the upper-level exhibit, where the Mustang will be recognize for the greatness it has brought to automotive industry. The iconic pony car is honored with various cultural and historical artifacts, as well as references to the Mustang's influence in fashion, film, food, and fun throughout the last 50 years. Revell® is providing young Mustang lovers with the first Mustang Model Kit, while supplies last.

There is a live engagement presentation and film, as well as an ST area that with racing simulators. Two people can race head-on in a virtual course where their times can be recorded and posted to their social networks!

Launched in 2007, the SYNC® in-car connectivity system will soon provide new system investments and organizational alignments that will deliver the industry's best fully integrated connected car and digital consumer experience. 

The SYNC AppLink, launched in 2010, has enabled vehicle owners to access and control smartphone apps via voice-command. There are more than 1-million vehicles driving on the road with the SYNC AppLink today and 3.4 million vehicles, 2010 models and newer, will be able to download the AppLink later this year.

Ford Expects to Remain Best-Selling Vehicle Brand in North America

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich - For the fourth straight year in a row, Ford remains the best-selling vehicle brand in North America. Racking up a sales total of 2.4 million vehicles, Ford increased retail sales by 15 percent.

Thanks in part to solid growth in western and southeastern regions on the United States, Ford has taken a strong lead over Toyota. Sales are not growing in just one specific segment either, vehicle sales in cars, trucks, and utilities are all playing a great role in the company's success. In 2012, Ford lead Toyota by 329,677 vehicles and through November of this year, they are leading by 396,041 vehicles.

The strongest of retail sales is coming from import-dominated western and southeastern regions of the country. Sales in the West are up 23 percent and 18 percent in the Southeast. Ford expects the retail sales total for 2013 to surpass 1.7 million vehicles, making for the best retail sales in six years! The Ford Fiesta had a terrific 2013, setting a new sales record with 70,000-plus vehicles sold. The Ford Fusion had its best year ever, with sales projected to exceed 290,000 vehicles.

With the U.S. economy improving and increasing home construction, the Ford F-Series pickup took the cake for the 37 year in a row as the nation's best-selling truck. Sales totaling 688,810 through November, the F-Series will be the overall best-selling vehicle in America for the 32nd year.

Ford Sees Best Retail Sales Month for November Since 2004

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - Ford has been on a roll this year and shows no signs of stopping. In fact, Ford has just announced that they had their best retail sales month for November since 2004 with a 7 percent increase in U.S sales!

Due mainly in part to the fantastic sales increase of the Ford Fusion and Ford Fiesta, Ford experienced a 7 percent increase in sales compared to last year and a 9 percent increase in retail sales total. This increase makes for Ford's best November retail sales month since 2004!

Both the Fusion and Fiesta set November records with Fusion sales up 51 percent since last year and the Fiesta selling 4,642 vehicles this month alone. The Ford F-Series is also experiencing great sales for the seventh month in a row, selling over 65,501 trucks in November! This number cements the F-Series as America's best-selling pickup and best-selling vehicle for another consecutive year.

With these three vehicles leading the way to a fantastic quarter, Ford has predicted they are on track to build 770,000 vehicles in the first quarter of 2014 in North America - talk about a lot of cars!

2015 Ford Mustang Will Be Revealed in December

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - For all the pony car lovers waiting anxiously for the release of the 2015 Ford Mustang, the wait is (almost) over. It has been announced that the 2015 Ford Mustang will be revealed in December, one month before the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Rumors were circulating across the internet that the 2015 Ford Mustang wouldn't debut until the Detroit Auto Show in January, or possibly even later at the 50th anniversary in April. Now it is being reported that the 2015 Ford Mustang will be formally revealed in December.

However, Ford will be giving a special preview of the 2015 pony car at Ford's headquarters next week in Dearborn. Before you get too excited, the preview will only be open to a select few members of the automotive press - and even they will be sworn to secrecy until the big reveal later this year.

As for what to expect from the new Ford Mustang, it's believed that it will be completely redesigned with a new rear-wheel drive platform, a new exterior and interior design, will weigh less than the current model, and will also have an EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder engine option - wow!
