ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. — Ford Motor
Company Fund will honor the late William Clay Ford, former chairman
of Ford's design committee, by awarding $1 million in automotive
design scholarships to students. Ford Fund will distribute $50,000 per year
over the next 20 years, giving five deserving automotive design
college students $10,000 in scholarship money each year.
Mr. Ford served 57 successful years as
an employee and board member at Ford Motor Company, transforming
vehicle design with his creative vision and setting the direction of
Ford's design process with his passionate soul. The development of
one of the greatest cars ever built, the iconic Lincoln Continental
Mark II, was because of Mr. Ford and a group of engineers and
designers that he led. The Ford Fund scholarships will encourage and
support the future generations in pursuing their dreams in automotive
design. As Ford
Fund awards $1 million in automotive design scholarships,
the dreams of automotive students everywhere are that much closer to
becoming a reality. More details of the William Clay Ford scholarship program will be available in the upcoming months.
