New Ford Mondeo Vignale

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.- Last year, the debut of the redesigned Ford Fusion impressed us all with its new styling and technological updates. And while we've known about the Fusion's global counterpart, the Mondeo, it's a new luxury Ford concept car that is stealing the spotlight; the Ford Mondao Vignale which recently debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show!

Part of Ford Motor Company’s planned luxury segment aimed at markets where the Lincoln brand isn’t available, the new Ford Mondeo Vignale is built on the Mondeo platform but is targeted at high-end car buyers with much more upscale styling. Appealing to those who may typically opt for an Audi or BMW, the Ford Vignale exterior shines with special 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome trim, a mesh grille, and bright LED headlights. The luxurious features are carried over to the interior of the vehicle as well with soft touch quilted leather, leather stitching, and carpet floor mats.

The new Ford Mondeo Vignale offers a true high-end experience with the vehicle's option of post-sale services that include reward points and chauffeuring. However, as part of Ford's new luxury segment that will be available to those that don't have access to the Lincoln brand, the Vignale will sadly probably not make its way to the United States.

Back To School Road Safety

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.- School is back in session and whether you drive your kids to school or make your daily commute at the same time as drop off/pick up, this week you've probably got stuck in all the back to school traffic congestion. All that traffic doesn't just give you a headache, it can be dangerous too, which is why it is important for us all to remember simple back to school road safety while everyone gets used to new school schedules, and throughout the school year!

Morning and afternoon traffic is now heavier, so it's important that our little ones are more aware of crosswalks, stop signs, safety patrols, and traffic in general. Crossing guards are extremely important to the city, as they keep our children safe, but it's always important to remind kids to watch out for cars since cars may not always be watching out for them. But as a driver, it's important to know that failing to stop for a crossing guard is a $170 misdemeanor that will add three points to your driver's license! Bus drivers and crossing guards report the license plate numbers of noncompliant drivers to police.

The same goes for stopping for school busses, except the fine is a civil infraction, so be aware of stopping school busses. When the red stop sign goes out, no vehicles are allowed to pass until all of the children have safely entered or exited the bus and then the bus driver takes the sign down. If you drive your child to the bus stop, be aware of where you are parking to drop them off or waiting to pick them up to be sure you aren't blocking any driveways, streets, or imposing on any businesses.

School parking lots can be dangerous for children too if we don't take back to school road safety seriously. As a driver, you can help help to keep drop off/pick up traffic running smoothly by paying attention to all parking signs; some schools have designated areas for this to keep our kids safe. And as always, keep an eye out for kids coming through the parking lot.

2013 Woodward Dream Cruise Celebrates Mustang's 50th Anniversary

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.- Revved up classic cars and hot rods have taken to the streets and car lovers and gear heads have travelled from around the world for the return of the Woodward Dream Cruise this week! This year is even more exciting that usual because the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise celebrates the Mustang's 50th anniversary as one of country's supreme automotive icons for both performance and design!

The 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise takes place Saturday, August 17th, along Woodward Avenue from Ferndale to Pontiac, and more than one million people from all over the world are expected to fill the town to enjoy the 30,000 to 40,000 classic cars and hot rods! But this week is filled with excitement too! Visitors from all over can enjoy events planned each day leading up to the cruise.

Dream Cruise week began with a special "Mustang Memories" show on Sunday as the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise will celebrate the Mustang's 50th Anniversary! The show took place in Dearborn at Ford Motor Company's world headquarters with as many as 1,000 Mustangs and other memorable Ford models on display! The expected 4,000 visitors were also able to enjoy the Mustang prototype that became Henry Ford II's personal car and several vehicles that never made it to production. Noteworthy guests included the Ford executives and engineers that are working on the top-secret 2015 Mustang due out next year!

If you plan on checking out some hot rods at the 2013 Woodward Dream Cruise, it's recommended to park off Woodward Avenue and walk the streets instead of driving, and don't be shy if you see a vehicle you love, or have questions about it, classic car owners love to talk about their vehicles!
