Mike Deslippe has been working at  Roy O'Brien Ford for 23 years. He mentioned that his wife made fantastic meatloaf, and we wanted to share the recipe. Mike says that the secret ingredient is the chili sauce. We hope that you enjoy this recipe!

Bake: 55 min.

Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:

• 1/3 cup plus 2 tablespoons chili sauce, divided

• 1 egg white

• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

• 3/4 cup finely chopped onion

• 2 garlic cloves, minced

• 1 teaspoon dried thyme

• 1/2 teaspoon salt

• 1/2 teaspoon pepper

• 1-1/2 pound ground beef

Directions:

1. In a large bowl, combine 1/3 cup chili sauce, egg white, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well.

1. Shape into a 9-in. x 4-in. loaf; place in an 11-in. x 7-in. baking dish coated with cooking spray.

1. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 50 minutes. Brush with remaining chili sauce. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until no pink remains and a meat thermometer reads 160°. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing

This weeks recipe comes to you from Bob & Louise. Bob is our Inventory Manager here at Roy O'Brien Ford. After trying this pie for the first time, they had to know the recipe. And now they are going to share it with the world.

Bob & Louise's Kool-Aid Pie Recipe

Ingredients
1 – 8 ounce tub of Cool Whip
1 – 14 ounce can of Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 – Pack of Kool -Aid (unsweetened)
1 – 9 inch Graham Cracker Pie Crust

Directions
1.    Add all the ingredients together
2.    Pour into prepared graham cracker crust
3.    Chill for about 2 hours
4.    Serve
5.    ENJOY!

*May add strawberries, bananas and/or whipped cream to top of pie.

Ann’s Old-World Raspberry Bars Recipe

We are going to start something new here at Roy O'Brien Ford. On Fridays, we will be posting a recipe from one of our employees. Ann has been with Roy O'Brien Ford for 24 years. She is always cooking us delicious things to eat, so we thought one of her recipes would be a great thing to share for our first Friday Recipe. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Ann’s Old-World Raspberry Bars Recipe

Rich, moist bars filled with flavorful raspberry preserves

Total Time
60 minutes

 

Crumb Mixture

• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 cup sugar
• 1 cup chopped pecans
• 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
• 1 egg

Filling

• 3/4 cup raspberry preserves, or of your favorite flavor preserves

Directions

• Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 8- or 9-inch square baking pan; set aside.
• Combine all crumb mixture ingredients in large bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. (2 to 3 min.) Reserve 1½ cups crumb mixture; set aside.
• Press remaining crumb mixture on bottom of prepared baking pan. Spread preserves to within 1/2 inch of edge. Crumble reserved crumb mixture over preserves.
• Bake 40-50 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool completely; cut into bars.
