Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Production To End

Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Production To End

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.- The debut of the 50th anniversary Ford Mustang is on the horizon, but one of the current Mustang models is also on its way out! It has been officially announced that Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 production will end after the 2014 model. While orders for the vehicle will continue to be taken through the end of the year, production will stop after the current model year.

One of the main reasons Shelby American has decided to discontinue production of the Shelby GT350, is to continue to ensure the vehicles stay limited and valuable since that is one of the biggest appeals of purchasing a Shelby GT350; they are extremely valuable and collectible.

The release of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 was a memorable moment in automobile history since its debut on January 27, 1965 in Riverside, CA, marked the first time that a bigger engine was put into a small, lightweight car.

Since its original release, the Shelby GT350 has come a long way. Today it is considered to be equipped with the most powerful production V8 engine on earth, that can produce 662 hp and 631 lb.-ft. of torque.
