Ford Celebrates 2 Millionth EcoBoost Engine

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.- Worldwide, consumer demand for an engine that offers both performance and fuel efficiency has grown, specifically for the Ford EcoBoost engine. And as a result of that increasing demand, today Ford Motor Company celebrates the production of the 2 millionth EcoBoost Engine! 

The EcoBoost engine line launched just four years ago in 2009 and the automaker's recent manufacturing milestone is due to the drastic growth in demand for EcoBoost-powered vehicles. This interest in major markets worldwide has driven the recent increase in production. Factory output of Ford EcoBoost engines now averages more than 100,000 engines per month, when just one year ago output only averaged 65,000 engines per month!

But it's not surprising that attraction to the EcoBoost engine line has continued to increase. The engine's combination of a smaller overall size, turbocharging, direct injection, and variable valve timing provides drivers with excellent performance and a 20% increase in fuel economy compared to larger-displacement gasoline engines.

Today Ford celebrates the 2 millionth EcoBoost engine which was a 2.0-liter engine powering a new Ford Escape. But you can enjoy EcoBoost performance and fuel efficiency in approximately 80% of the automaker’s global nameplates powered by the five EcoBoost models: 1.0-liter three-cylinder, 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter, 2.0-liter four cylinder, and 3.5-liter V6!

2014 Ford F-150 Tremor EcoBoost-Powered Sport Truck

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.- The Ford Motor Company F-Series is stealing the automotive spotlight which is normally occupied by the brand's Mustang. Late last week the automaker debuted the new 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor, the first EcoBoost-powered sport truck!

Featuring a regular-cab and short-wheelbase, the 2014 Tremor aims to address the needs of street truck enthusiasts that are interested in high-performance V8 power, but still want the benefits of V6 fuel economy. Distinctive looks derived from the style of the FX Appearance Package, coupled with the performance of the EcoBoost engine and a launch-optimized 4.10 rear axle providing quick acceleration, will distinguish the Tremor from the rest of the F-series lineup.

Inside, drivers will enjoy a low-through center console and black leather bucket seats with red accents. On the exterior, onlookers will be captivated by the custom-inspired flat-black accents including 20-inch wheels, stylized bodyside graphics, and black badges with red lettering.

Equipped with performance features normally only found in the aftermarket, the highly capable 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor Sport Truck is powered by Ford's 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, boasting 365 horsepower at 5,000 rpm on regular fuel.

Leaked 2015 Mustang Shots Spark Debate

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich.- Photos of full-sized clay models suspected to be of the 2015 Ford Mustang have surfaced all over the web in advance of Ford Motor Company’s release. The photos are prompting all kinds of speculation by Mustang-devotees about what direction the design and engine configuration will be on the sixth-generation version.

The photos feature four clay models shot evocatively behind a poster of an unknown Ford prototype, arousing debate over whether the poster foreshadows the 2015 Mustang or a different model.  The pictures have aroused comparisons with some of the classic Mustangs; although, if they are similar to the final design, the lines should appear quite modern.

The design of the much-anticipated 2015 model is not the only aspect that has sparked considerable buzz—there is also controversy surrounding the rumored four-cylinder engine option and whether it is going to be offered in the U.S. market or European markets. 

Whichever way the designers at Ford decide to go, you can expect the finished product of the sixth-generation 2015 Mustang to be on the circuit in 2014, possibly showing its face around the middle of April.
