ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has given the 2014 Ford Fiesta a top highway fuel economy rating - in fact, the highest highway rating of any 2014 non-hybrid gasoline car on the market today!

This impressive highway rating was made possible with the new SE Manual EcoBoost package that includes Ford's new 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine and a five-speed manual transmission.  The EcoBoost package allows the vehicle to get 32 mpg in the city, 45 mpg on the highway and 37 mpg combined.

Leaked 2015 Ford Mustang Details

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - We recently announced that the 2015 Ford Mustang would be debuting in December - four months earlier than previously thought - but now leaked 2015 Ford Mustang details have been spreading rapidly across the internet. 

Starting with the bodywork - the dimensions will be slightly smaller than the predecessor, as it is taking styling cues from other Ford vehicles such as the Ford Fusion and the Ford Evos concept from the 2011 Frankfurt show. A pair of large vents can be seen on the front of the hood; the rear window is smaller and extends from the roof in a peak formation; and the side windows appear to be more closely aligned.

The interior is a perfect mixture of retro and modern, with two large, tubular gauges located in front of the driver, circular air vents that sit atop the center stack, and a rectangular duct that sits on either side. The center stack will offer either the traditional stereo or the MyFord Touch - available for the first time in the Ford Mustang. Due to previous complications with the technology, Ford has replaced a lot of the virtual controls with actual buttons and knobs, while also evolving the technology to be more efficient. Ambient lighting will continue to be available in the Mustang, but it will spread beyond the dials, cup holders, etc. to the rest of the vehicle's cabin.

Now for the part we've been waiting for: the powertrain. A naturally aspirated 3.7-liter V-6 and the "Coyote" 5-liter V-8 engine will continue to be offered with the 2015 Ford Mustang, with the V-6 producing 305HP and the V-8 making 420HP. Transmissions will also continue to remain the same, until the 10-speed automatic transmission (currently being developed) becomes an option in a couple of years. After the vehicle is launched, Ford will offer powertrain upgrades to pony car drivers, and the GT-badged Mustang will produce 500HP.

2015 Ford Mustang Will Be Revealed in December

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - For all the pony car lovers waiting anxiously for the release of the 2015 Ford Mustang, the wait is (almost) over. It has been announced that the 2015 Ford Mustang will be revealed in December, one month before the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Rumors were circulating across the internet that the 2015 Ford Mustang wouldn't debut until the Detroit Auto Show in January, or possibly even later at the 50th anniversary in April. Now it is being reported that the 2015 Ford Mustang will be formally revealed in December.

However, Ford will be giving a special preview of the 2015 pony car at Ford's headquarters next week in Dearborn. Before you get too excited, the preview will only be open to a select few members of the automotive press - and even they will be sworn to secrecy until the big reveal later this year.

As for what to expect from the new Ford Mustang, it's believed that it will be completely redesigned with a new rear-wheel drive platform, a new exterior and interior design, will weigh less than the current model, and will also have an EcoBoost turbo four-cylinder engine option - wow!

New Warranty Information for Service

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - Recently there have been some changes to the Service Parts Warranty that comes with the Ford & Motorcraft Parts that we sell at Roy O'Brien Ford. To help you better understand the New Warranty Information for Service, we will detail some of the big changes to the warranty below.

As of October 1, 2013, the Service Parts Warranty on Ford & Motorcraft parts is increasing to 24 months and unlimited miles - wow! The current warranty is 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, the new warranty:

• Applies to all Ford and Motorcraft branded parts sold to customers or installed on a customer paid repair.
• Standard Parts Warranty on Ford paid repairs (warranty, customer loyalty program, recalls, owner notification programs) remains unchanged at 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.
• Standard Parts Warranty labor is now reimbursable to requesting fleets and installers for parts sold over-the-counter. Limit of $150 per repair.
• Dealerships continue to be reimbursed labor on SPW repairs completed in the repair shops.
• SPW coverage remains unchanged on parts with unique warranty coverage, including powertrain assemblies, batteries, and sheet metals as stated in the Warranty & Policy manual.

Ford Creates Vehicles That Park Themselves and Steer Around Obstacles

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - Ford is at it again, working hard to create a vehicle that will make your drive more enjoyable and comfortable. While the technology is still being tested in Belgium, Ford has created vehicles that can park themselves and steer around obstacles.

While we all like to think that we are excellent drivers,  we have to admit that we are only human and sometimes we make mistakes when we're behind the wheel. Ford knows this and is working to develop technology that will step in for you when a mistake occurs. One such technology is the Obstacle Avoidance system.

This system will recognize when your vehicle is approaching a slow or stationary object ahead and react accordingly. First, it will alert the drive to the obstacle with a warning and a chime. Then, if no action is taken, the vehicle will take over by applying the brakes, scanning for gaps in traffic, and taking control of the steering wheel to guide you to safety.

Another technology that is currently being tested extensively is Ford's Fully Assisted Parking Aid. This technology would park your car for you - and you don't even have to be in the car! It does this by using three radars, ultrasonic sensors and a camera. First, the vehicle will scan ahead to check for available parking. If it finds a spot, it will alert you early enough for you to stop. The driver would then put the vehicle in neutral and push the parking button. At this point, the vehicle would take over the brakes, gas, and steering wheel to park your car in a parallel or perpendicular parking spot.

Ford currently has a system that helps you, the driver, park your car. However, it requires the driver to remain in the driver's seat and keep their foot on the brake pedal. This new Fully Assisted Parking Aid would allow your vehicle to take complete control, whether you're inside or outside the vehicle. You may remain in the vehicle while it parks, or you can step outside the car and push the vehicle's park button via a remote/keyfob.

Ford has created a vehicle that parks itself and steers around obstacles, however, it's still in the testing stage and won't be found in Ford vehicles for some time. 2015 Ford Focus ST Spy Shots

ST. CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - Seen out and about in Germany, a prototype of what appears to be the 2015 Ford Focus ST has been spotted. While it's apparent that the vehicle will only be undergoing minor updates, these 2015 Ford Focus ST spy shots are a great indicator of what to expect for the 2015 model year.

While it appears that the vehicle won't be changed too much, the covering on the grille makes it obvious that this area will be getting a new treatment. Ford will most likely stick with the current ST's honeycomb-style finish, but rumors suggest that the grill will reflect the 'Aston Martin' inspiration that has been seen on the rest of the Ford lineup.

As for the 2015 Ford Focus ST's performance, not much is expected to change. The current 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine will most likely carry over to the 2015 model. This engine produces 252 hp and goes from 0-60 mph in 6 seconds with a top speed of almost 155 mph - definitely nothing to complain about!

The Focus ST's interior is expected to get a major update, along with the entire Ford Focus lineup. While we can't see any of the changes in the picture, details of the update will most likely be leaked before the vehicle's debut. As for when we'll see the finished product, the 2015 Ford Focus ST will most likely make an appearance at a major North American auto show at the beginning of 2014. Until then, we can appreciate these 2015 Ford Focus ST spy shots and speculate on what's to come.

Ford Motor Company Buys Technology Start-Up Livio

The intent behind this purchase is to accelerate the streaming of information into your vehicle and raise the technology standards that currently exist for automakers.

Although Ford Motor Company has bought the technology start-up Livio, it will keep its name as well as its employees. Livio's workforce will work alongside Ford's AppLink engineers to further develop the entertainment technology in Ford vehicles. With their combined knowledge, they hope to be able to produce cars that will seamlessly connect with your smartphone. Ford predicts that 21 million vehicles will have integration systems by 2018, so advancing the current system early will give Ford a head-start on the competition.

Currently, Livio technology allows users to connect their smartphone and its apps to the car radio - with revenue up in the millions, this start-up company is actually very successful.  The creators of Livio hope that the name 'Livio' will become more widely known under the Ford brand. All of Livio's customers will continue to be served, despite the new deal with Ford.

Ford Installs 6.7L Powerstroke V8 in Half Million F-Series Trucks

CLAIR SHORES, Mich. - Having just built its 2 millionth EcoBoost engine, Ford reaches another engine milestone after installing the 6.7L Powerstroke V8 in a half-million F-Series trucks.  This milestone is especially sweet since Ford continues to be the only company that sells a heavy duty diesel truck in the U.S. that has a drivetrain that is designed and built in-house.

This in-house built and designed 6.7L Powerstroke V8 engine was first introduced in 2010 and has only been around for three years. Even with so few years beneath its belt, this powerful engine has hit the half million mark for the 2014 model year - all possible because of the high demand for the engine.
